2016 marks the year for a refresh for the Nissan Sentra. This Sentra, like previous generations, rides well, offers excellent fuel economy, continues to add a roomy back seat, has additional driver assists and sports a new and improved cockpit. Nissan fully expects the Sentra to continue to sell at least 200,000 units a year in the United States, even in the face of stiff competition from the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra and the upcoming Chevy Cruze.
The Sentra will start at a price of $17,615. If you want all the bells and whistles, you are looking more at $25,940. Each Sentra will feature front-wheel drive, 130 horsepower, 1.8 liter engine that sports a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The excellent fuel economy will get you 38mpg on the highway and 29mpg around the city.
The entry level Nissan Sentra aka Sentra S, will come with a six-speed manual transmission. There are no options at this trim level. Only thing you can choose is the color paint and color of the cloth upholstery. If you move up to the Sentra FE + S, you are looking at a price tag of $18,865. For the extra money, you get a rear spoiler, underbody aerodynamics and low rolling resistance tires.
The next trim level up is the Sentra SV. Starting at $19,385, this Sentra will feature a 5 inch multi-information display that Nissan has dubbed Advanced Drive Assist Display. There are you optional packages that will be available. The Driver’s Assist Package, priced at $1,020, will feature blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert and SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link. The second package available will be the SV Style. This package is priced at $750. It will give you a moonroof and 16 inch alloy wheels.
Finally, the All Weather Package will provide heated front seats and outside mirrors for $300. If sporty is your desire, you may want to consider the Sentra SR. Starting at $21,245, you will get 17-inch alloy wheels, LED low beam headlamps, heated front seats, a rear spoiler, and four disc brakes. The technology available on the Sentra SR is phenomenal. The SR Premium Package is priced at $2,590. That package includes a moonroof, leather seats, a power driver's seat, NissanConnect infotainment system with navigation and mobile apps, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, blind spot warning, and rear cross traffic alert.
